Grumpy Groundsman

After travelling across the city, I was expecting to partake in a cricket match, that was not so. There were clouds and it had rained but the surface was playable. So, disappointed I was to see the home team groundsman trudging out broadcasting his pessimistic views that there would be no play on HIS pitch today. It did begin to rain, and rain, and rain an hour after the start time, but that is not the point! This game had been in both my and the teams thoughts throughout the week and our hopes of a game of cricket were dashed.
